How HATCH works. The mechanic, the math, the honest version.
// WHAT HATCH IS
HATCH is a Solana SPL token. 5,000 supply, 9 decimals. No team allocation. Bonding-curve launched on Meteora DBC, graduates to DAMM v2 with permanently locked LP.
Every whole-integer balance you hold (1, 2, 3, ...) claims an "egg slot." 5,000 slots total. Slots map to deterministic pixel-art dinosaurs, computed from the trade signature that claimed them.

- › Cross 1.0 HATCH → claim egg #N (next available slot)
- › Hold ≥1.0 for 24 hours → egg HATCHES into a baby dino
- › Cross 5.0 cumulative → JUVENILE
- › Cross 25.0 cumulative → ADULT
- › Cross 100.0 cumulative + rare roll → LEGENDARY
- › Sell below threshold → de-evolve one stage. Sell to zero → egg dies, slot returns to pool.
// THE TRAITS
Each dino has 8 trait bytes derived from the trade signature: species (6), body color (16), eye color (8), pattern (8), scenery (16), aura (8), accessory (8), rarity tier (4 levels).
Same seed → same dino, forever. hatch-renderer.js is a public deterministic function. You can run it locally to verify any HATCH.
// THE HONEST VERSION
The art is not on-chain. Solana doesn't have Uniswap-v4-style hooks. Token-2022 transfer hooks exist, but Meteora doesn't support them. So art lives off-chain.
What we do off-chain: watch transfers. Compute slot deltas. Run the public renderer. Pin SVG to IPFS via Pinata.
The chain has the ownership truth (transfers, balances, signatures). The renderer has the art truth. We're the indexer that connects them.
This is the honest version: standard token, standard pool, deterministic public renderer, transparent indexer.
// THE BONDING CURVE
Initial FDV: 8 SOL (~$680). Migration FDV: 80 SOL (~$6,800). Once total buy volume hits the threshold, the curve graduates to a regular DAMM v2 pool. LP is permanently locked at graduation.
Pre-graduation fee: 1% flat. Post-graduation: 1%. No fee scheduler. No anti-sniper. Snipe at your own risk.
// WARNING
Bonding curve + 5,000 supply means sniper bots will eat most slots in the first minute. We did this knowing the consequences. The 24-hour incubation means snipers must hold 1+ HATCH for a full day for their eggs to actually hatch. Some will. Most won't.
// THE LIMITS
- › Art is not on-chain (technical limit of Solana DEXs).
- › The indexer can be wrong if Solana RPC misses transfers (rare).
- › Bonding curve graduation can take minutes or weeks. Volume-dependent.
- › NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. This is an experiment. You can lose everything.
